EMS SPECIALIST-Southern Alleghenies EMS Council, Inc.

The Southern Alleghenies Emergency Medical Services Council (SAEMS) is seeking an independent thinking, highly motivated individual with knowledge in emergency medical service systems. The individual selected will be responsible for various operational programs, including the Statewide EMS Safety Initiative and quality initiatives.

Minimum current EMT certification and field experience as a Pennsylvania pre-hospital provider is required.  Paramedic certification and bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidate should have excellent verbal and written skills as well as ability to teach EMS and other related programs and make presentations. Primarily Monday-Friday work hours with occasional nights, weekend and travel required.  Starting salary $19-21/hour with excellent benefits package.

SAEMS serves the Commonwealth as the one of 13 regional EMS councils and is largely funded by a grant from the PA Department of Health. Our area of responsibility includes the counties of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon and Somerset.

Regional Manager, Emergency Preparedness, South Central and South Central Mountain Regions

This position provides expert consultation and advisement to emergency preparedness planners in health care systems and health care facilities seeking to improve their individual emergency response plans, and works to enhance their ability to participate in regional planning and response.

Regional Manager, Emergency Preparedness, South Central and South Central Mountain Regions

This position provides expert consultation and advisement to emergency preparedness planners in health care systems and health care facilities seeking to improve their individual emergency response plans, and works to enhance their ability to participate in regional planning and response.

Health care facilities include:

  • Hospitals
  • Long-term care facilities
  • Ambulatory surgical centers
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Other facilities the Pennsylvania Department of Health or Regional Coalition deems critical to emergency preparedness planning and response

The regional manager also provides administrative leadership and management and support to the assigned coalitions, facilitating business processes, required activity tracking, and reporting activities. This position also serve as a liaison between Pennsylvania Department of Health staff and health care facilities and systems.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • Five years or more of experience in health care facility related emergency preparedness and management
  • Five years or more of experience in fire, emergency medical services, clinical/allied health, law enforcement, an emergency management agency, or other emergency field-related experience
  • Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional, Certified Emergency Manager, or a similar recognized credential preferred

Candidates for this position must be self-motivated with strong customer relation, computer, and organizational skills. The successful candidate must be able to recognize and solve issues quickly, multi-task, travel, and work a flexible schedule.
